Welcome to the Web Site of The Nivaagaard Picture Gallery

The Nivaagaard Picture Gallery was established by estate owner Johannes Hage, who donated his private art collection to the general public as an independent institution in 1908. The museum is situated in a large Romantic garden with old, beautiful trees and many different kinds of rhododendrons.

The museum is a place where you can experience outstanding works of art from the Italian and Northern European Renaissance, the baroque art of the Netherlands and the Danish Golden Age. The museum furthermore displays two annual special exhibitions, often featuring more recent and contemporary art.

Tuesday - Fridays Noon - 4 PM
Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays 11 AM - 5 PM
Mondays: Closed
Please Note: The museum i closed weekdays in December and January, but open during the weekend.
